Antibiotics are life-saving for treating bacterial infections, but they can disrupt the gut microbiome for months or even years after use. Managing stress and getting enough sleep also play a role in gut health. Researchers are also investigating personalized diet plans based on an individual’s unique microbiome to help prevent chronic conditions like diabetes and obesity. While there’s still much to learn, the growing body of evidence highlights the gut microbiome as a critical area of focus for anyone looking to support long-term health.
